Bringing Nature and Inspiration Together: Custom Moss Wall Donated to Support STEM Education

Kelly Mac Interiorscapes is proud to announce the completion and donation of a custom-designed moss wall for Students 2 Science, a dynamic organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering students through hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

The project reflects a shared mission — to create environments that spark curiosity, creativity, and innovation in the next generation of thinkers and problem-solvers. The installation combines biophilic design principles with colorful graphic elements inspired by the organization’s branding, resulting in a vibrant focal feature that celebrates both nature and innovation.

This project was brought to life through a creative collaboration with Second Melody and The Graphix Spot, who helped translate the organization’s mission into a visually engaging design. The moss wall now serves as both a piece of living art and a daily reminder of the connection between nature, creativity, and learning.

“We are always looking to give back in ways that align with our values — connecting people to nature while supporting education and innovation,” said Kevin Kelly, Vice President at Kelly Mac Interiorscapes. “This moss wall is more than just décor; it’s a symbol of growth, sustainability, and inspiration for future generations.”

The team at Kelly Mac Interiorscapes is honored to contribute to a space that fosters imagination and discovery — helping to grow the future workforce one idea (and one plant) at a time. We’re honored to support a space that helps students dream bigger, think deeper, and shape a brighter, more sustainable future.

Nature By Design: The Practice of Biophilic Design

The positive impacts of biophilic design in educational settings are profound. A study of 1,500 children ages 8 to 12 found that students who had spent additional time in nature, when compared to their peers, showed superior learning and development, greater physical strength and coordination, better self-esteem and self-confidence, enhanced ability to cope with challenges and adversity, and higher critical thinking, problem-solving, and creative abilities.
